Sureiyan grew up in Melbourne before moving to Perth to study Veterinary Science. After graduating in 2013, he moved interstate to take part in a small animal rotating internship at the University of Queensland Vets Small Animal Hospital which sparked his interest in emergency and critical care.

After this, Sureiyan worked full-time at UQ VETS Pet Emergency Centre where he enjoyed the varied caseload and providing high level veterinary care to critical patients.  He commenced a residency training program in 2019 with the aim of becoming a specialist in Emergency and Critical Care.
