Nick Cowling commenced his Anaesthesia and Analgesia residency at UQ VETS. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology and Management) and while completing his Bachelor of Veterinary Science, he worked as an emergency nurse at the UQ Western Animal Emergency Centre at St Lucia. After completing the Pet ER rotating internship in 2012, he returned to UQ VETS as an emergency clinician.

In 2014, Nick joined the UQ VETS Anaesthesia service as a clinical anaesthetist, and became a Member of the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Anaesthesia and Emergency in 2015. In 2017, he commenced the American College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia diplomat training program, the UQ Doctor of Veterinary Clinical Science residency program, and the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists Fellowship training program.

Nick is interested in equine anaesthesia and emergency and critical care anaesthesia in cats and dogs.
