UQ VETS fees are comparable to those of private veterinary practices and commensurate with the level of service provided.
We are a teaching hospital, but don’t take teaching cases for discounted or free treatment.
Thank you for understanding that we don't offer accounts or credit.
Pay with VetPay Finance
If you have a routine, referral, on-farm or emergency appointment with one of our UQ VETS vets or specialists, you can pay with VetPay or Medipay finance.
VetPay
VetPay allows you to start treatment immediately but spread the remaining balance of costs over the coming year with fixed payments.
Apply for VetPay online, or ask us to set up your VetPay payment plan.
Online applications can take up to one business day to approve. Your application will be approved instantly if you apply through UQ VETS.
You can apply for VetPay Finance when you come to UQ VETS for your appointment.
You'll need to bring:
- valid photo ID
- bank/credit card or Medicare card
- the means to pay your deposit.
The person named on the application must attend in person at discharge to complete the financial agreement.
Medipay
Medipay is a payment provider offering tailored financing for veterinary treatments- from $2,000 to $10,000 payable up to 36 months.
Patients can apply for pre-approved funding directly through the Medipay, subject to eligibility and credit assessment. If approved, treatment costs are paid directly to the clinic and repaid in instalments by the patient over an agreed period.
MediPay offers a flexible and affordable payment plan that rewards early repayment with discounts and no payout fees. All applications are managed independently through MediPay.
Australian based support is available via our Customer Care team on 1800 810 950.

When to pay
Consultations and day stays
Payment is required at the completion of each visit.
Outpatient visits - Production Animals only
We will invoice you after we have visited your farm.
Hospital admissions
During your consultation, your attending vet will discuss with you the estimated treatment costs and what they cover.
You'll need to:
- pay a deposit of 50 per cent of the estimated treatment costs on admission
- pay the balance at discharge.
If your pet needs to stay in hospital longer or your treatment plan changes, your estimated costs may increase. Your attending vet will discuss the increase with you and ask you to provide a larger deposit so 50 per cent of your costs are covered.
