UQ case study for treating forelimb lameness

Da Da Des Brimbles is an eight-year-old warmblood gelding and a high-level showjumper.

He experienced recurrent forelimb lameness that improved with short periods of rest and then returned following competition.

He presented to UQ VETS Equine Specialist Hospital for a lameness examination. Our specialists identified a grade 3/5 left front lameness that was most notable when he was circling on a hard surface.

His lameness improved with a palmar digital nerve block (when the foot region is anaesthetised) and radiographs indicated mild navicular bone changes.
