Visitors

You can visit a horse while it's a patient at the UQ VETS Equine Specialist Hospital if you're an approved visitor.

Visiting hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9am to 11am, 1pm to 3pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10am to 11am

We strictly enforce visiting hours unless your clinician has given you special permission to visit out of hours.

We only allow owners or trainers listed on the admission form to visit a horse unless the owner has given us express permission.

Visiting procedures

Approved visitors must follow procedures while visiting their horse.  Make sure you:

  • wear closed-toe shoes
  • check in at reception first, don't go directly to the stall
  • remain with your horse during the visit
  • don't remove your horse from the stall unless a clinician has given you permission.

Privacy

We protect the privacy of our clients.

While you're visiting a horse, please don't:

  • walk around the clinic unattended
  • visit other patients
  • take photographs of other patients
  • read patient charts.

If you do so, we'll ask you to leave immediately.
