On-farm visits

You don't need a referral for an on-farm visit. Our production animal vets make house calls within a 70-kilometre radius of Gatton.

Phone us to make an appointment with one of our vets and we will come to you.

We often bring final-year UQ veterinary science and veterinary technology students to on-farm visits. Appointments may be longer than usual so that our students can provide care under our direct supervision.

We offer a limited service for pigs and alpacas, so phone us to discuss any concerns and book in advance for non-urgent appointments. We don’t tend to camels.

Hospital visits

We will see your animal at our UQ VETS Small Animal Hospital or Equine Specialist Hospital, depending on the type of animal and nature of its medical problem.

Our vets have access to advanced diagnostic imaging equipment not regularly available to farm animals, including MRI, CT imaging and digital radiography.

They also collaborate with UQ VETS’ onsite team of registered veterinary specialists who provide internal medicine, surgery, reproduction and anaesthesia and analgesia services, as well as diagnostic imaging.

All UQ VETS specialists and vets have unique research expertise and regularly discuss and/or transfer cases to enhance group knowledge and achieve the best patient outcomes.

If your regular vet feels your animal needs a specific treatment, diagnostic or procedure that we provide, they will need to send us a referral.

You can then contact us to make an appointment.
